From ArtDrop

It’s time for another look inside the ArtDrop mail box.

Charlene Chua  •  www.charlenechua.com

Alright, so Charlene and I met through ArtDrop a while ago, but she just sent me a few new pieces to oggle over. I’ve got one of her pieces at my place already, and I’m just trying to find a few more pennies (or hundred dollar bills) on the ground so I can afford another. I’ve got my eye on the swan piece (Lisa would love it)

Guilherme Guimaraes • http://guille.cghub.com

A nice combination of character images and environmental pieces were sent in by Guilherme. I’m always a sucker for solid concept and character work.

Cory Godbey • corygodbey.com/

Cory got our YA folks to stand up and take some notice. And showing (good) dragons with personality is always a ‘win’ with the D&D Art Directors.

Got questions, or want to see a discussion on a particular subject? Drop me a line at jon@theartorder.com, and put “Question” in the subject line.

Gotta referral? Seen a new face, or seen an old face that is doing something new and exciting? Then send me a link to their website, and tell me why I should go check ‘em out. Remember, this is a referral program – not a self promotion program! The genre doesn’t have to be limited to fantasy and sci-fi either . . . Send your referrals to jon@theartorder.com, and put “Referral” in the subject line.

Portfolio Submission? Don’t forget that you can also send your art submissions to Wizards of the Coast at ArtDrop@wizards.com. Please make sure that your submissions do not total more than 5Mb, or your email might get bumped.

    • I don’t have a preference. I do ask that you keep submission below 5mb (the servers will bounce your email otherwise), and that you include contact information…you know, just in case we actually like your work and want to contact you. You’d be surprised how many submissions don’t have contact info…

  2. Great artists, all of them.

Cory Godbey needs to put some of that arty goodness in D&D. When I can no longer get work from WoTC because he is taking it all, I will take comfort in having his illustrations to drool over.
